Below are some stats and a brief biography about me. Name: Jacklyn Helen Doreen Wyatt As stated above, my name is Jacklyn Wyatt but most people know me as Jackie. I'm a 22 year-old female from Toronto, Ontario and presently I'm an exercise rider for thoroughbreds at Woodbine Racetrack. I also created and own a horse racing simulation game called Equination.net and I am also a freelance web programmer and designer. I'll try to keep this fairly short and simple. I think in most Internet autobiographies people try to describe themselves how most people would perceive them. I'll just describe how I feel about myself. I think I'm a very ambitious, outgoing, dedicated and hard working individual that will do whatever it takes to get what I want. I'm also very laid-back and easy-going with a twisted sense of humor, but I do also have a temper and some attitude. I pretty much cover all bases, I suppose. I love trying new things and experiencing life. The whole point of us being here is to enjoy the time we have, experience as much as we can and be happy. At least thats what my motto is for life, anyways. Enough about my personality, I'll give a brief history on myself now. I grew up in Brantford, Ontario as an only (and wonderfully spoiled) child and got addicted to horses at a very young age. Around when I was 5 or 6 my grandparents bought me a free riding lesson at a little farm in the country and I was hooked ever since. I did the hunter scene for several years until the farm was sold due to a divorce. My parents bought me my first and only horse after Grade 8 graduation through the divorce. His name was Martin (Hershey Kiss was his show name I gave him). He was pretty crazy, but I loved riding him in my lessons so my parents got him for me (it didn't help I cried every time we left the farm because I knew I would never see him again). He taught me a lot and I learned a lot at a new farm where I began showing jumper. During this time I started up my website Equination.net and began to develop a desire for racing and becoming a jockey. I've always been tiny, I'm 5'4" and barely weighed 105 through most of high school even though I ate like a pig. I figured I'd be perfect for it and it became my dream. When I was 17 I landed my first job in the summer at Woodbine racetrack thanks to my dad phoning into a radio station when legendary Sandy Hawley was on the air. He helped get me a job as a hotwalker and it started from there. I then moved onto a farm, Windfields, in the fall of that year in hopes of learning how to gallop. They barely let me ride even twice, so I quit, but my boyfriend at the time was heading to Florida to work for hall of famer, Mac Benson, and he was able to get me a job with him too, so I went. I barely turned 18 when I flew to Florida to learn how to gallop and I'm glad I went. I worked for Mac for a few years at Woodbine and at Payson in Florida in the winter. I galloped some very nice horses (Nashinda, Arravale) and learned as quickly as I could with no one really helping out. I have since become a freelance exercise rider and have worked for several great trainers. My main focus has been at Danny Vella's stable, though, for the last couple of years. Last fall I finally got my jockey's license and began riding races in September. It took me until Danny gave me a mount in November on a horse I galloped for over a year to get my first winner. Renga's Girl was her name and it was the most incredible feeling in the world. Shortly after that I got sick due to reducing in weight to ride and had to stop for the season. This year, I began riding again and won my second lifetime race on my second mount from Danny, Texas Blitz, at Fort Erie. However, that was my last race of my life as I decided that the weight was simply too difficult for me to maintain. You can read more about that in my journal. Now, I am happy, healthy and enjoying life. Exercising horses isn't really work to me, it's fun, and I get to finally put the time and effort I've always wanted to into my businesses. That's about it for my biography. As for my pets... I had to sell my horse either my second or third year at the track, due to expense and lack of time. I miss him dearly to this day, but it was for the best. Right now I have a cat and his name is Kitty. I wouldn't mind getting back into show horses eventually, but I have too much ambition and not enough time right now so that will just have to wait!
